"We Did It"

The ULI Orange County/Inland Empire, the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) Orange County Chapter and the Southern California Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) joined together on the evening of December 15th, 2011 for our second annual joint holiday networking event. As we did last year, in the spirit of the holiday we also wanted to give back and decided again on Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County as our charitable organization recipient.

Purchase a Frederick Law Olmsted Video

Frederick Law Olmstead Video

The video is based on Don Marquardt’s popular live stage presentation of Frederick Law Olmsted’s life and accomplishments, this 37-minute video concentrates on Olmsted’s early life influences, many failures trying to find a successful career, and then his providential partnering with architect Calvert Vaux and their wonderful creation of New York City’s Central Park.

This fascinating and frustrating project not only created one of the most popular parks in the world, but finally launched Olmsted’s glorious career – which he and Vaux named Landscape Architecture.
